Lincoln Lights 2025 brought the city to life with a series of captivating light installations and illuminated experiences. Audiences gathered beneath glowing trees and waves of light, watched as Shadowplay by Walk the Plank reimagined storytelling through shadow and movement, and marvelled at Angels and Demons by Illuminos, which transformed Exchequer Gate into a dramatic canvas of light and colour.

Families played and danced in Shadow Dance by Impossible, while Swing Song from Bristol Light Festival invited visitors to rediscover childlike joy on illuminated swings. Other highlights included The Kettle by Lumo Workshop, The Bright Side by Stellar Creates, Chroma by Urban Projections, and The Whilers by Air Giants, creating an unforgettable trail of light, imagination and togetherness across Lincoln.

Lincoln Lights 2025 brought together a wide range of audiences from across Lincolnshire and beyond. Families, students, residents and visitors explored the city together, experiencing light installations and interactive artworks that appealed to all ages.

The event also engaged local artists, creative technologists and production teams, providing opportunities for collaboration and skills development within the region’s growing creative sector. By working closely with partners across culture, tourism and business, Lincoln Lights created a shared sense of pride and connection that united communities through creativity.

Lincoln Lights 2025 attracted over 51,000 attendees, with an estimated 30,000 visitors coming into the city to experience the illuminated trail.

Lincoln Lights 2025 brought together a wide range of audiences from across Lincolnshire and beyond. Families, students, residents and visitors explored the city together, experiencing light installations and interactive artworks that appealed to all ages. The event also engaged local artists, creative technologists and production teams, providing opportunities for collaboration and skills development within the region’s growing creative sector. By working closely with partners across culture, tourism and business, Lincoln Lights created a shared sense of pride and connection that united communities through creativity.The event generated an impressive £810,583 in gross value added to Lincoln’s economy, with local hospitality and retail businesses reporting a significant uplift in evening trade and visitor spending. Audience feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 96% of visitors rating the quality of the event as good or very good, and 84% saying that Lincoln Lights enhanced their experience of visiting the city either extremely or very much.

In February 2025, Lincoln Lights transformed the city’s streets, landmarks and waterways into a glowing celebration of creativity and connection.

For two dazzling evenings, Lincoln was illuminated with large-scale light installations, interactive artworks and digital experiences that invited audiences to see familiar places in a new light. From the Cathedral Quarter to the Brayford waterfront, the city came alive with colour, sound and movement, offering something magical for visitors of all ages.

The event attracted tens of thousands of visitors, drawing families, residents and tourists alike into the heart of the city. Local businesses reported a major boost in footfall and hospitality trade, while artists and creative technologists collaborated to deliver work that celebrated Lincoln’s heritage and innovation.

Lincoln Lights 2025 marked an exciting new chapter for the city’s cultural calendar, blending art, technology and community spirit to create a shared experience of joy and discovery. Building on its success, the next edition of Frequency will evolve to merge both festivals into Frequency 2026, Festival of Light, Play and Discovery, a spectacular city-wide celebration inspired by the success of Lincoln Lights.
